Tennis Coaching With Andrew Kofsky

Andrew Kofsky is an experienced and passionate player looking to share his knowledge of the game as a tennis instructor for people of all skill levels and backgrounds.

Andrew grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and trained at High Performance Tennis Academy alongside top ranked national and sectional players. He has also trained at Rick Macci, Van der Meer, and Saddlebrook.

 While a junior tennis player, Andrew won several Philadelphia area tournaments, and finished 1st in the 18 and Under Greater Philadelphia rankings. At Harriton High School, he was Captain and Second Singles on the Varsity team, and earned All League Honors for both doubles and singles play.

 Andrew also competed for the Philadelphia delegation at the JCC Maccabi Games, earning the bronze medal in singles. He later was selected to compete on Team USA in the Pan-American Games in Santiago, Chile, where he received the silver medal in doubles.

 In college, Andrew played on the Club Tennis team at Tufts University, and over the summers trained with several top Division 1 and 3 players. 

Andrew completed Van Der Meer TotalTennis University’s course under direction from multiple board members of the Professional Tennis Registry, and is certified by the PTR as an Instructor in Adult Development. He has also taught children of all ages, both at L3 Tennis in Bryn Mawr, PA and as a private instructor. 

 

Experienced Trainer

Andrew traveled to Van der Meer Tennis Academy in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for their world-renowned TotalTennis University course. He gained valuable experience in understanding how to best teach tennis to inexperienced beginners. Andrew was able to speak to multiple members of the board of the Professional Tennis Registry, as well as acclaimed professionals from Van der Meer. He completed the course and received a certificate in Adult Development from the Development and Diversity Coordinator of the PTR.

Andrew was an accomplished junior player. While in high school, he played for Team Philadelphia in the JCC Maccabi Games and medaled in singles in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Later, the American Maccabi team selected Andrew to play in the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, where he medaled in doubles. He was the captain and a singles player on Harriton’s varsity tennis team. While training at HPTA, Andrew won several local USTA Tournaments in singles, doubles, and even mixed doubles, resulting in a 1st place finish in the Boys’ 18 Singles in Philadelphia. He also competed at a high level in sectional and lower-level national ranking point tournaments.

Match Coaching

Andrew is experienced in coaching match play from the beginner level to high pressure USTA Tournaments. His experience has allowed him to develop successful strategies to stay disciplined and have fun on the court in stressful situations.

Andrew works with most of his students at Welsh Valley, Harriton, and the Gladwyne public courts, but is also willing to travel to teach lessons.
